2021 Festival Dates Announced
The 2021 Festival will be held from Sunday 4th - Saturday 10th July 2021.
25 March 2020
It’s with much regret that the IOM Flower Festival committee has taken the decision to cancel our 2020 event. We have a duty of care to our participants and visitors and in the current situation we feel the responsible action is to postpone the Festival until 2021.
Current restrictions would make it impossible for venues to meet up to make plans in advance of the event and so much work goes into the planning and organisation of the Festival by so many people that to run a Festival at which visitor numbers could potentially be very low would be a waste of so much time, expertise and hard work.
We intend to put all our efforts into staging an even bigger, better floral event next year and hope you will all give the 2021 Festival your support.
16th March 2020
The decision has reluctantly been made to cancel our forthcoming Flower Workshops as a result of the ongoing Coronavirus situation. The health of our participants is our priority and we feel that this is the responsible course of action to take.
Orders for the flowers required for the workshops need to be ordered well in advance resulting in a substantial financial outlay and potential loss should we be forced to cancel at a late stage and following a directive from North West Flowers our demonstrators would, in any case, be unable to attend.
We're sorry to disappoint those who had booked places and hope you’ll be able to join us at some time in the future for another flower workshop.
11th February 2020
Booking is now open for our popular Flower Workshops to be held at St John's Methodist Church hall on Tuesday 24th March. Session times at 2.30 and 6.30pm, only £5 per person including refreshments. Watch a demonstration by our experts and have a go yourself with all materials provided to create a floral masterpiece to take home for family and friends to admire!
21st January 2020
18 venues have confirmed they'll be taking part in our 2020 Festival! 6 are in the north of the Island, 5 in the south, 4 in the east and 3 in the west. We'll also have 4 lovely gardens for visitors to enjoy at Rushen Abbey in Ballasalla, Milntown and the Grove Museum, Ramsey plus Ellan Vannin Home in Douglas.
19th November 2019
19 venues have signed up for our 2020 Festival! The deadline for applications has now passed and any additional venues interested in participating will be placed on a waiting list and offered a place should there be any cancellations.
3rd November 2019
We've had 14 venues express interest in participating in the 2020 Flower Festival so far ..... applications close on 15th November so there's still time for a few more to sign up. Places are limited though, with 18 being the maximum number we can accommodate, so don't leave it too late!
1st October 2019
Our 2020 Theme
We're exploring links with UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man and our theme for the 2020 Festival will be taken from their promotional literature: 'A Special Place for People and Nature'. Invitations are going out this week to over 70 potential 2020 participant venues and, hopefully, we'll soon have a good idea which parts of the Island our enthusiastic visitors will be enjoying next summer.
